Certification Standards

In order to become a Honda CPO vehicle, every used Honda must meet strict requirements. A CPO vehicle must be well maintained, less than six years old, and have a maximum of 80,000 miles on its odometer. If the used Honda meets these requirements, then it can begin the certification process.

Every eligible vehicle must undergo a rigorous 182-point inspection that looks at the vehicle's mechanics and appearances. This inspection means that a Honda-trained technician examines all major vehicle systems to ensure they're in top condition. If they're not, these systems are reconditioned or replaced with Honda Genuine Parts.

Warranty

Every Honda CPO vehicle will come with the peace of mind you would get with a brand-new vehicle. That's because Honda makes sure you get a solid warranty that covers major engine and transmission components, except for standard maintenance items, body class, and the model's interior. The warranties include a Powertrain Limited Warranty that covers 7 years/100,000 miles (whichever comes first).

When a vehicle is purchased within the New Vehicle Limited Warranty period, the vehicle's Non-Powertrain Warranty is extended to 4 years/48,000 miles (whichever comes first). If it's purchased after the vehicle's New Vehicle Limited Warranty has expired, then the CPO vehicle will receive a warranty of 1 year/12,000 miles.

For 2018 - 2020 models that are purchased under the HondaTrue Certified+ program, the New Vehicle Limited Warranty will be extended to 5 years/86,000 miles.
