Honda realizes how difficult long car rides can be with the little ones in the back. Luckily, on select trims of the Odyssey, a Rear Entertainment system is available - this includes a DVD player to help pass the time for the kids. There are also many other features in the Odyssey other than a DVD player to help keep children entertained on the ride, as well as even more highlights for parents. For example, there are HDMI Ports, USB Ports to help keep electronics charged, a second row camera to help keep an eye on everyone in the back, and a library of streaming applications for music or films and shows!
Which Trim Levels Come with a DVD Player?
When it comes to deciding on a vehicle for your family, the Honda Odyssey is the obvious choice. Every year, it allows more connectivity than ever before - from Apple Carplay and Android Auto to the CabinControl app that allows passengers to control the inside of the minivan from their phones. Many of these features were new on the 2018 model, and have now become standard. The motor gives a peppy kick to the minivan, keeping it away from being a sluggish drive, and the van also includes a large amount of cargo space to pack the entire family's bags.
The Honda Odyssey has five trim levels:
- LX
- EX
- EX-L
- Touring
- Elite
The Honda Odyssey redefines family driving. One of the most important features that the minivan includes is the rear entertainment system. On this 10.2-inch screen, second- and third-row passengers will find themselves delighted by their favorite music and TV shows. Not only that, but the How Much Farther? application helps younger rear passengers grasp exactly how much longer it will take to reach the next destination. This gets rid of the age-old, "are we there yet" ringing from the back seat. Children can follow along the route from the back seat without needing to ask anything out loud.
The Odyssey comes standard with the Honda Sensing® safety suite for a definitive peace of mind while driving - especially with the family in the car. This bundle of savvy security frameworks and driver-assistive advancements improves true serenity in the driver's seat. It includes elements like a Collision Mitigation Braking System, Road Departure Mitigation System, and Adaptive Cruise Control.
How Do DVD Players Work In The Honda Odyssey?
The Elite and the Touring - the two highest trim levels on the Odyssey, come with a DVD player installed.. This setup includes a flip-down 7-inch screen, visible for both second- and third-row passengers. You can utilize the system to play DVDs or audio CDs. Once you get used to the controls, the DVD player is rather straightforward to work with. For the player to work, the Odyssey's engine needs to be running.
The following is how to work the DVD player on your Odyssey:
Step 1
Press the button marked "Open" on the back of the DVD control panel. Pull the screen down and move it to the desired position.
Step 2
Press the "Vol/Power" button to turn the DVD player on. When the screen turns on, press the "Load" button, which is next to the DVD slot.
Step 3
Put the DVD into the slot face-up. Press the "DVD 2" button with the arrow to start playing the DVD.
Step 4
The plus sign button next to "Seek" will skip to the next scene, while the minus button will skip backwards.
Step 5
Press and hold the button marked "DVD 3" to fast forward through the movie; press "DVD 1" to rewind.
Step 6
Press the button marked "DISP" to get to the DVD options menu. Use the "Up" and "Down" bolts to explore through the choices, which includes things like captions and sound decisions.
Step 7
Press the button marked "DVD 4" to stop the DVD. Press the "Eject" button to one side of the DVD space to eject the DVD from the system.
Some of the biggest highlights are as follows:
- A best in class, processing plant coordinated Blu-ray™ Rear Entertainment System is standard on the Odyssey Touring and Elite models.
- Two arrangements of remote earphones are provided with the Rear Entertainment System.
- A 10.2-inch high-goal WSVGA screen comes on all available models.
- This includes HDMI innovation for hooking up video games, cameras, or other equipment.
- A 110-volt electrical plug is also included.
- The interior cabin controls can be changed by the CabinControl app.
- A fun, kid-accommodating "How Much Farther?" application can utilize points from the GPS to help children understand how far along in the drive they are.
