The Honda Sensing® suite of driver-assistance and safety technologies is a standard or available feature on most Honda models. Combining the use of radar and multiple camera views, this suite helps you feel more confident behind the wheel. These are the features that the Honda Sensing® suite offers – and a look at how they work.
 

Collision Mitigation Braking System™

 
While you’re driving along, the Collision Mitigation Braking System™ (CMBS™) will work to detect potential frontal collisions. This technology uses a radar transmitter on your Honda vehicle’s grille, scanning for obstacles like other cars, cyclists, or pedestrians. If a collision might happen, the system sends you visual and audio alerts, eventually applying your vehicle’s brakes if you don’t heed these warnings.
 

Road Departure Mitigation System

 
Stay on the road and centered in your lane with the Road Departure Mitigation System (RDM). This system uses a camera to detect road markings, whether they’re yellow or white lines. It works between 45 mph and 90 mph, alerting you to potential road departure by giving you a visual cue and vibrating the steering wheel. If these alerts are ignored, it will sound an audio cue.
 

Adaptive Cruise Control

 
When you’re using cruise control, Adaptive Cruise Control will help keep you a set distance between you and the car you’re following. It does so by decreasing your speed if the vehicle in front of you slows down, eventually increasing it to your set speed if it deems it safe.
 

Lane Keeping Assist System

 
The Lane Keeping Assist System (LKAS) helps you stay in the center of your lane, using the same windshield-mounted camera as the RDM system. It will center your vehicle if it senses you drifting away from the center of your lane.
 

Traffic Sign Recognition

 
If you need to remember what the speed limit is on any given stretch of road, the Traffic Sign Recognition (TSR) system will help. This system works to remember what the speed limit is, also taking note of other road signs your Honda passes while driving.

RDM may not detect all lane markings or lane departures; accuracy will vary based on weather, speed, road conditions, and other factors. System operation affected by extreme interior heat. Driver remains responsible for safely operating vehicle and avoiding collisions.
 
ACC cannot detect all objects ahead and may not detect a given object; accuracy will vary based on weather, speed, and other factors. ACC should not be used in heavy traffic, poor weather, or on winding roads. ACC only includes a limited braking function. Driver remains responsible for slowing or stopping the vehicle to avoid a collision.
 
LKAS only assists driver in maintaining proper lane position when lane markings are identified without a turn signal in use and can only apply mild steering torque to assist. LKAS may not detect all lane markings; accuracy will vary based on weather, speed, road conditions, and other factors. System operation affected by extreme interior heat. Driver remains responsible for safely operating vehicle and avoiding collisions.
 
TSR cannot detect all traffic signs, may misidentify certain signs, and does not include any braking or speed control functions. Accuracy will vary based on weather and other factors. System operation affected by extreme interior heat. Driver remains responsible for complying with all traffic regulations.
