The 2019 Honda CR-V SUV is packed with a wide range of advanced technologies, ranging from the audio system to the infotainment system with smartphone integration. Most important, the Honda CR-V is built with Honda Sensing® active safety technologies on the EX, EX-L, and Touring trims.

The Honda Sensing suite of safety features actively work to prevent collisions by monitoring the CR-V’s surroundings and alerting the driver of potential hazards. The suite includes the Collision Mitigation Braking System™ (CMBS™), the Road Departure Mitigation System (RDM), Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) with Low-Speed Follow, and the Lane Keeping Assist System.

Collision Mitigation Braking System

The Collision Mitigation Braking System actively monitors the space ahead of the CR-V. If it detects a frontal collision that it deems unavoidable, it will apply pressure to the brakes to reduce the impact of the collision or, if possible, prevent it completely.

Road Departure Mitigation System

The Road Departure Mitigation System monitors how well your CR-V is staying within its lane. If the CR-V begins to cross over into another lane without the driver having signaled, the system will steer the SUV back into its own lane or apply brake pressure to keep the CR-V from running off the road.

Adaptive Cruise Control with Low-Speed Follow

Adaptive Cruise Control is the next generation of cruise control, allowing drivers to set a predetermined distance from the vehicle ahead of them rather than a set speed. This is helpful during highway driving when other drivers frequently increase or reduce speed.

Lane Keeping Assist System

Finally, the Lane Keeping Assist System reduces driver fatigue during highway driving by helping the driver to adjust the steering to keep the vehicle centered in a lane that the system has detected. While the driver must still stay alert, it reduces the work that arms and hands must do on longer trips.

Strong crash test results are good, but it’s even better if you can avoid crashing in the first place. That’s where Honda Sensing® comes in. Learn more about the CR-V and its safety technologies at Bryan Honda!
